SENIOR PASTOR & FIRST LADY
Pastor Douglas Watkins is a life-long resident of Athens-Clarke County. He was born to the late Deacon George Watkins and the late Mother Lena Pearl Watkins on September 25th. Doug is the fourth of five boys. He was educated through the Clarke County School District and graduated in 1992 from Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, GA. He received secondary education through Athens Technical College and Beulah Bible College. In 1993, he united in matrimony to Shannon Marie Hawkins. Doug and Shannon have four children – Douglas, Deja, DaKayla, and Devin. One granddaughter, Ava, and a bonus grandson John.
A true master of many trades, Doug committed to several apprenticeships during his early career. These skills became the building blocks of many lucrative opportunities. In 1996, Doug joined Estes Express Lines in Athens, GA, and in 2016 joined Saia Transportation in Athens, GA, where he is still employed.
In March 2009, he was named the Coordinator for the “Fellowship of Faith,” a Christian association for independent churches in and around the Athens area under the leadership of Bishop Bobby Bloodsaw.

As Senior Pastor of Heaven Bound Ministries, he works in harmony with Co-Pastor Lillie Taylor to oversee the needs of the congregation, demands of the ministry, and the numerous auxiliaries and departments. He actively maintains the coordination of Public Administration and Project Management for HBM. He personally plays a vital role as leader of the Men’s Department, HBM Outreach Services, leads Biblical Education for the entire church, and along-side Lady Shannon Watkins, he oversees Marriage Matters a ministry for Married Couples.
Lady Shannon is a 1993 graduate of Cedar Shoals High School. She pursued her secondary education at Piedmont College where she received her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. She has been employed with Clarke County School District since 2004 and is a distinguished member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
